Meryle Secrest, the author of Frank Lloyd Wright a Biography, shows us Wright in full scale - the brilliant, outrageous, fascinating man who changed modern architecture and the standard-bearer for the new quintessentially American vision. He was an artist who never abandoned his principles of design; the radical, the Bohemian, the visionary. The book follows Wright from boyhood to the height of his work. We see the famous houses, among them the Winslow house he designed at age 27, The Imperial Hotel in Tokyo (the only building left standing after the 1923 earthquake), and of course the famous Falling Water. The author was the first biographer allowed access to the Wright Archives. Complete and intriguing biography.
