This is a very good hardcover. 1929 J.H. Sears Publishing edition. This copy is clean inside and out. There is light natural tanning to pages from age but good overall as light tanning with no serious foxing seen. The binding does have a minor crack from age but the pages are tight to binding and binding straight. Between pages 136-137 you can see the hint of binding crack but again, pages tight to binding so far. The hardcover boards new illustrated with boy reading in front of fireplace with dog nearby. Back of hardcover boards features design of a girl reading in front of a book shelf. The hardcover boards are also very good, clean and only showing light wear, very good given age. NOTE: on first blank page previous owners name neatly written in pencil, "Billy Lee Davis Aug. 16 1928". Top page edges tipped in red stain to match red fireplace on front cover. This is a very nice vintage copy, crown octavo book size or 5.25" x 8" with 243 pages.
