This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover. 1992 Time Life Books. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. Pages crisp, clean and free of markings. Binding tight and straight. Cover bound in maroon imitation leather w embossed design front only and color illustration front. Only very light wear to cover, mostly at corners or edges. Imperial octavo size or 8.5" x 11" with 183 pages.
Time Life published this series in the 1990's called The American Indians. Each title in the series focused on a different topic of American Native history. This title, The Way of the Warrior features the history of the great American Indian warriors of the Old West. Chapters include The Wellsprings of Conflict, The Ritual of Warfare, The Tactics of Deception and Daring along with essays on A Gallery of Fighting Men, A Hero of the Mandan Nation, Crowning Glories and more. Extensively illustrated with vintage photos and drawings that bring the detailed text to life and bring back the Old West to readers.
