This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1995 Random House Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Maroon hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only very light shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is very good but does have light shelf wear to corners/edges. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 242 pages.
A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott tells a compulsive tale of love, desire, and deceit. The novel was written in 1866, two years before the publication of Little Women. It was initially rejected for publication and remained unpublished until 1995. It is somewhat uncharacteristic of Alcott's writing style as it is in the style of a thriller. The main character, Rosamund, lives on an English island with her grandfather who is bitter old man. Soon, a man named Tempest enters her life and she quickly falls in love, although Tempest is no saint and seems cold hearted. But, it is soon discovered that Tempest already has a wife and son leading Rosamund to pack up and leave for Paris. Tempest soon follows, determined to hunt her down. The pursuit continues no matter how many times Rosamund tries to leave behind the past. The chase soon has a tragic end.
