This is a very good paperback. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight, NO creasing along spine. The cover is also very good and clean with only a hint of shelf wear. Standard trade paperback size or 6" x 9" with 521 pages including index.
In Undaunted Courage, Stephen E. Ambrose details the Lewis and Clark expedition, probably the greatest expedition ever undertaken in American history. Thomas Jefferson was determined to find a waterway to the Pacific, Lewis and Clark undertook the task and began their journey into the American West. The book does focus on Meriwether Lewis with several chapters devoted to his early life in Virginia. Most of the book is focused on the expedition and is based on journals and letter. Focus is paid to how the expedition opened the West and early Indian policy. There are extensive maps to accompanying the engaging text.
