This is a near fine (almost like new) set of two hardcover in accompanying slipcase. 1986 Galahad Books. This set is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The bindings are tight and straight. Hardcover boards under jackets are also near fine. The dust jackets are clean and shiny with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying slipcase is very good, clean and shiny with light shelf wear including a small tear to bottom edge that is neatly taped to avoid further damage. They are both super octavo book size or 7" x 10" with 636 pages in The Best of Mystery and 631 pages in Tales of Terror.
This set of suspense/horror/mystery stories from Alfred Hitchcock is sure to provide hours of reading for fans of Hitchcock stories. Tales of Terror contains 58 stories chosen by Hitchcock from authors such as Robert Bloch, Nelson DeMille, Charlotte Edwards, Nedra Tyre and many more.
The Best of Mystery contains 63 short stories, also chosen by Mr Hitchcock from authors such as Edward D. Hoch, Lawrence Block, John Lutz, Margaret Chenoweth, and many more.
