This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 2000 Chronicle Books. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean, bright with colorful illustrations. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards with red quarter trim are also near fine. The dust jacket is almost like new, there is shelf wear in the form of minor wrinkle top right corner but the jacket is clean and shiny front and back. Larger hardcover, imperial octavo book size or 9" x 11.25" with 87 pages including index to stories. Full color illustrated endpapers front and back.
This edition of Aesop's Fables from Chronicle Books is finely illustrated by Jerry Pinkney. The artist has four Caldecott Honors and received the Coretta Scott King award 4 times. He has been awarded numerous gold and silver medals from the Society of Illustrators. 60 fables fill the pages along with the lavish illustrations.
