This is a very good hardcover with accompanying slipcase. 1957 Heritage Press. This copy is very clean inside and out. The inside pages are still crisp and clean with no foxing or markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Green hardcover boards are also very good with only very light shelf wear which is mostly some fading along spine were not covered by slipcase. The accompanying slipcase is in emerald green and showing light shelf wear but overall good. Super octavo book size or 8" x 10.5" with 315 pages not including index. The original Sandglass pamphlet that accompanied Heritage Press books is not present.
Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen from Heritage Press has been translated with an intro by William and Charles Archer. It is finely illustrated by Per Krohg. Peter Gynt was published in Copenhagen in 1867. the play is based in Norwegian folklore. It chronicles the journey of the title character from the mountains of Norway to the deserts of North Africa and back. The play has been adapted into stage and film.
