This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket, jacket missing. 1949 MacMillan Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are clean with no foxing or markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Brown hardcover boards are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 487 pages including index.
A Student's History of Philosophy by Arthur Kenyon Rogers (former Professor of Philosophy Yale University) is a study in philosophy from Greek to Middle Ages to Modern Philosophy. This edition includes the original preface to the first edition along with a preface to the Third Edition, which is this edition published in 1949. It is detailed and complete with coverage from Plato, Aristotle and Socrates to the recent tendencies in philosophy mid 20th century.
