This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. Circa 1970's Time Life Art Series books. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. Hardcover boards in tan with brown quarter trim are near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying slipcase is also near fine, with full color illustrated frontispiece. Larger coffee table style book, quarto book size or 9.5" x 12".
The World of Watteau from Time Life Art Library is both a collection of his work along with details of his life and times. The 18th century artist worked in the Baroque style, and is credited with reviving the waning Baroque style. He was a French painter whose work often featured peaceful bucolic scenes.
