This is a very good set of two hardcovers. Two Volume Edition Harper & Brothers Publishing circa 1920's. The copyright page shows 1893 BUT this edition includes a dedication page to Wallace's father (dated 1893) so it cannot be a First Edition, 1893. Assumed circa 1920's from Harper. Both volumes are very good inside and out. There is light natural tanning to pages from age but they are clean and there is no foxing. The bindings on both are tight and straight. Navy blue hardcover boards with gold/red design and lettering on both are very good with only light shelf wear mostly at corners/edges. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" each with 502 pages Volume One and 578 pagers Volume Two.
The Prince of India of Why Constantinople Fell by Lew Wallace tells of the events that led to the fall of Constantinople to the Turks in 1453. It is a historical novel and the third novel of Wallace who also gave readers "Ben Hur".
