This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1963 Little Brown Publishing BOOK CLUB EDITION. Includes original pull-out map intact as published. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. Inside front and back cover there is only light spotting to inside edge. No other spotting, foxing seen. The binding is tight and straight. Blue cloth hardcover boards with navy planes/ship design on front and red/gold lettering along spine are also very good with only light shelf wear. The dust jacket is good, there is wearing to jacket along top and bottom edges and corners but overall very clean. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 611 pages including index.
The Two War Ocean A Short History of the United States in the Second World War by Samuel Eliot Morison is a one-volume history rewritten from its longer counterpart; the 15 volume History of the United States Naval Operations in World War ll. But nothing is left out in this single volume and it contains 52 charts and 25 pages of photos. It also includes a 3-fold pull out map, intact and in place as published. The author felt there were too many historians writing from the outside looking in and so he undertook this massive history and wrote official, from records and experience definitive history.
