There is light natural tanning to pages from age but they are clean with no foxing seen. The binding is tight and straight. Black cloth hardcover boards with green quarter trim are also very good with only light shelf wear. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 224 pages. Illustrated endpapers front and back. NOTE: there is a minor scuff inside front cover where previous owners small name sticker removed.
I Sailed With Rasmussen is Peter Freuchen's account of his good friend, the famous Danish explorer Knud Rasmussen. Rasmussen was the first European to cross the Northwest Passage by dog sled. Freuchen and Rasmussen established the Thule Trading Station in Greenland where it became the most northern trading post in the world and served as home base for expeditions. The extensive research on the indigenous peoples established him as the father of what is now considered Inuit Studies. The book is a fascinating look at the friendship between the two men and their epic adventures.
