This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. 1963 Heritage Press. This copy is still crisp and clean inside. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. The accompanying slipcase is very good with only very light shelf wear. Green hardcover boards with grey cloth quarter trim are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. This edition is finely illustrated by the author with an intro by Daphne Du Maurier. Larger size, imperial octavo book size or 8.25" x 11" with 344 pages.
Peter Ibbetson by George Du Maurier is a romantic novel with tones of melancholy and a paranormal twist. A shared dream brings together two lovers who are otherwise separated in reality. In reality, class and circumstance separate the two but a lucid dream connects the two.
Maurier, best known for his political satire and cartoons in Punch, turned novelist with this, his first novel.
