This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket, jacket MISSING. 1976 Macmillan Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. NOTE: inside front cover there is a small scuff where store sticker removed Binding tight and straight. Red cloth hardcover boards are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. Royal octavo book size or 8.5" x 10.5" with 252 pages including index.
Dickens of London is a biography of the great novelist and his time. It details his private life and influences that inspired and dismayed him. Each of his works are described with the circumstances and surroundings of the work. The book is extensively illustrated with color plates and black and white drawings along with vintage photos. Illustrations of rooms where Dickens stayed, notes for his works and more bring the literary giant to life for the reader.
