Dec. 16th, 1944 and the German armies, totaling 500 thousand men, attacked US forces in Belgium and Luxembourg. In a devastating intelligence failure of the U.S. Army, the attack came as total surprise. The brutal confrontation that ensued became known as The Battle of The Bulge. It would become the greatest battle every fought by the U.S. Army. This book is the definitive account of the dramatic victory. The author, a renowned historian, was also an eyewitness. He commanded a rifle company during the battle. The book was exhaustively researched and incredibly authentic in its depiction of hand-to-hand combat.
