This is a near fine (almost like new) collectible hardcover with dust jacket and accompanying slipcase. 1966 Skira Books. This copy is remarkably crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean. The binding tight and straight. Ivory hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only a hint of shelf wear and is covered with a clear archival mylar sleeve The accompanying slipcase is very good, also with only a hint of shelf wear. Large folio book size or 12" x 19" with 220 pages.
The Europe of the Cathedrals was one of a 14 volume set of art/ideas/history books delving into the cultural background of the Western World. The aim was to bring art and history into relation with the movement of ideas and structure of society. This volume is dedicated to European history of the Cathedrals. It is incredibly illustrated with vintage photos and art featuring the designs and developments of the great cathedrals of Europe.
