This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover. 1962 Programmed Classic Books, Doubleday Publishing. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Green hardcover boards with gold title lettering along spine are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. Crown octavo book size or 5.75" x 9" with 235 pages.
The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is the unfinished record of his life, written by Franklin from 1771-1790. Franklin called the work his "memoirs" but they became better known as The Autobiography of B. Franklin. This edition does include the introduction from the 1916 edition. This edition is the basic reprinted text from the "memoirs" with no annotations or notes etc.
DoubleDay published 16 volumes in their "Programmed Classic Book Series". They were designed to offer classic titles and favorite books to the masses at quality price in nice hardcover bindings.
