This is a very good rare collectible horror magazine. Volume 2 Number 2-3 June 1975. Includes supplemental page as originally issued. This copy is very clean inside and out. There are no markings or writing seen inside. The pages are still crisp and clean. Stapled binding is very good and solid. The cover is only showing a hint of shelf wear and there is no foxing or serious tanning inside or out. Crown octavo book size or 5.5" x 8" with 68 pages.
Whispers magazine was first published in 1973 by editor Stuart David Schiff. It was born from hopes of reviving the previous magazine Weird Tales. The name "Whispers" was derived from an H.P. Lovecraft story called "The Unnamable". Featured writers in the magazine were Manly Wade Wellman, Fritz Leiber, Robert Bloch, Ramsey Campbell among others. The magazines have become true collectibles the horror genre. Much attention was paid to the illustrations and editions in the later 1970's began to feature color illustrations.
This copy of Whispers by Editor Stuart David Schiff is a double volume, Volume 2 Number 2-3 1975. Includes original supplemental page as issued. Cover art Frank Utpatel. Authors include Fritz Leiber, Carl Jacobi, Hugh B. Cave, Henry Hasse, Manly Wade Wellman, Karl Edward Wagner and Payne Brennan. Various artists contributed illustrations throughout. Frank Belknap Long contributed One Day in the Life of Lovecraft, includes article by H.P. Lovecraft "Story-Writing a Letter". E. Hoffman Price gives an Anthropology: Folkways of Fandom.
