This is a very good set of 3 hardcover with accompanying slipcase. University of Pennsylvania Press 1956. All three hardcover are very good inside and out. The pages are very clean with no markings seen. The bindings are all tight and straight. NOTE: between pages 52-53 of The Ingenious Franklin there is a hint of binding loosening near bottom page edges (see photo) but pages are still tight and only small indication of such at bottom page edges. Hardcover boards on all 3 are very good with only very light shelf wear. The accompanying slipcase is very good BUT there is a tear to case top corners, neatly taped to avoid further damage, otherwise solid slipcase with only light wear. Each hardcover is standard crown octavo size or 5.5" x 9".
A Franklin Miscellany is a compilation of 3 volumes outlining Benjamin Franklin's life and times. Originally published in 1931 by U. of PA Press, this is the 1956 reprint. The three volumes are; The Ingenious Dr. Franklin edited by Nathan G. Goodman, Benjamin Franklin in Scotland and Ireland by J. Bennett Nolan and General Benjamin Franklin also by J. Bennett Nolan. It is a detailed history of the life and times of Franklin. Generously illustrated, each volume feature a different perspective of the man and times. From his travels to his inventions Benjamin Franklin is revealed.
