This is a near fine (almost like new) paperback. First Quill Books Edition 1983. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight, NO creasing along spine. The cover front and back is also near fine with only a hint of shelf wear. This is a small paperback, crown octavo book size or 5" x 8.5" with 128 pages.
Wilderness Pets by Scott R. Sanders is made up of 50 brief tales which chronicle the period of settlement of the Ohio Valley, 1780-1850. It begins with the "discovery" of the Ohio Valley by La Salle and ends with the Civil War. In the stories you will meet preachers and profiteers, hermits and lawyers, farmers and journalists. They are short stories that condense the experiences into tales of adventure and exploration. They reflect the experience of settling and exploring a new land from the people who lived it.
