This is a very good rare collectible horror magazine. Volume 1 Number 3 March 1974. Includes supplement page as originally issued. ALSO includes a signed Stuart David Schiff card, BUT note is is very yellowed with age (see photo). This copy is very clean inside and out. There are no markings or writing seen inside. The pages are still crisp and clean. Stapled binding is very good and solid. The cover is only showing a hint of shelf wear and there is no foxing or serious tanning inside or out. Crown octavo book size or 5.5" x 8" with 68 pages.
Whispers magazine was first published in 1973 by editor Stuart David Schiff. It was born from hopes of reviving the previous magazine Weird Tales. The name "Whispers" was derived from an H.P. Lovecraft story called "The Unnamable". Featured writers in the magazine were Manly Wade Wellman, Fritz Leiber, Robert Bloch, Ramsey Campbell among others. The magazines have become true collectibles the horror genre. Much attention was paid to the illustrations and editions in the later 1970's began to feature color illustrations.
