This is a very good hardcover. 1973 Grosset and Dunlap Publishing. Originally published as a two volume set of poetry and literature, this is SINGLE VOLUME only of poetry. This copy is clean inside and out. The pages are very clean with no markings seen. The hardcover boards are very good with light shelf wear corners/edges. Imperial octavo book size or 8" x 10" with 338 pages including index.
The Illustrated Treasury of Poetry for Children has been edited with commentary by David Ross. It is lavishly illustrated by various illustrators including John Tenniek, Edward Lear, W.S. Gilbert and more. Illustrations are done in a mixture of black and white with color and they bring the poems to life for readers of all ages. This is an extensive poetry anthology divided into sections such as The Seasons, The Tide Rises The Tide Falls, Creatures of the Sea and Sky, Spells and Enchantments, Music, Nonsense, Mirth and more. Hundreds of poems are featured and illustrated.
