This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. New American Library BOOK CLUB Edition 1965. This copy is very good inside and out. The pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Black hardcover boards feature the golden gun on the spine BUT NOT the wrap around golden gun as found in the true first edition and they are very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is good, showing shelf wear w small tear top front right corner and along back top edge and back bottom. Overall good as solid with shelf wear and desirable as present. Octavo book size or 5.5" x 9" with 183 pages.
The Man With the Golden Gun was Ian Fleming's final Bond novel and published posthumously. This edition from New American Library features hardcover design from Paul Bacon studio with black hardcover boards with yellow edge trim and gold title lettering on spine along with golden gun image on spine. The true First Edition would have a wrap around golden gun on black hardcover boards. This change was made with the book club edition only featuring the golden gun small logo on spine. The dust jacket has "bullet holes" printed on cover BUT they are not cut outs like the First Edition was. On the first edition the "bullet-holes" actually were cut out showing black hardcover boards through the cut-outs. That is the main difference between this BOOK CLUB edition and a true First Edition, along with the golden gun image on hardcover boards.
The novel is an other great installment in the adventures of James Bond and noted as 007's "last great adventure" as it was Fleming's last novel.
