This is a near fine (almost like new) large hardcover with accompanying slipcase. 1978 Institute in Basic Youth Conflicts. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Hardcover boards in marbled tan with brown quarter trim are also near fine. The accompanying slipcase is very good, clean and still shiny with light shelf wear along edges/corners. Large quarto book size or 9.25" x 13" with 382 pages including index. Large heavy book that will shipped securely boxed and bubble wrapped.

This is VOLUME TWO of a two volume set published by Rand McNally from the Institute in Basic Youth Conflicts. Divided into seven parts, the work is a compilation of character sketches from the pages of scripture and illustrated in the world of nature. The chapters or "parts" of the book are; Flexibility, Alertness, Availability, Endurance, Joyfullness, Hospitality, and Generosity. It includes a complete index on scripture references. The illustrations throughout are suburb and demonstrate nature in reference to the chapters and scripture reference. Examples would be the beautiful illustration of a pheasant that illustrates alertness by anticipating actions of those who may want to harm it. Or, the superb illustrations of the wolf who illustrates availability by refusing to be deterred by deceptive distractions. Characteristics of the wolf, pheasant or animal featured include their habitat and routines that demonstrate the principles of the chapter.

This is an exquisite portrait of nature in relation to scripture that is complete, thoughtful, detailed and finely illustrated throughout. The illustrations are extensive and relate the subject matter in an incredible manner.
