This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1998 Konecky and Konecky Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. Pages are still crisp and clean and the only marking seen is previous owners library stamp neatly embossed bottom edge of title page (see photo). The binding is tight and straight. Tan hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only light wear. The dust jacket is clean and shiny with light shelf wear, small tear top edge middle. Medium octavo book size or 7" x 10" with 471 pages.
Recollections and Letter of Robert E. Lee was compiled by his son, Captain Robert E. Lee. This book reviews all the aspects of Lee's life. From wartime leader to President of Washington College, it shows all aspects of his life through his correspondence. It reveals the workings of a great military man along with the compassion of a human being. His outspoken views of peace for the South and rejoining the Union with dignity and honor are reflected. His letter reveal all aspects of his time as General, leader, and man of honor.
