This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1992 Mallard Press. (see description, this is NOT a storybook but a pirate history) This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean, white and bright BUT NOTE only mark seen is minor small scuff first blank page top edge where store sticker removed. No other markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Black hardcover boards under jacket are almost like new with barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is clean and shiny with only light shelf wear at corner/edges. Near imperial octavo book size or 10" x 10" with 66 pages including index.
Pirates! is not a storybook. It is a history of the fascination world of pirates. Did you know that Julius Caesar was once captured by pirates? The book explores pirates from the ancient world through their golden are in the 18th and 19th century. It describes what a pirates life was really like including laws, battle tactics, and stories of the most famous pirates of all time.
