This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 2002 Little Brown Publishing First Edition. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. Blue hardcover boards w tan quarter trim under dust jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. In 1985, Gregory Gibson was sent a handwritten journal discovered by a small book dealer in rural Indiana. It turned out to be a young officer's account of an 1825 naval expedition dispatched to the Pacific to apprehend the perpetrators of the Globe mutiny. The mutiny was a notorious crime in American history, involving murder, stabbings, shootings, and more. The plot was carried out by a Nantucket native and his 3 henchmen. The plan was murder everyone on board, sail to the Marshall Islands, subdue the natives and rule as king. The incredible story of how the ship made an epic voyage back to South America, the crimes and conspiracy and the naval expedition for justice makes for an incredible and epic story.
