This is a good solid hardcover, no jacket, jacket missing. Second Printing 1955 Comstock Publishing Cornell University. This copy is good inside and out. There is some writing on first blank page, see photo, (name and ref. number) and 5-6 small checkmarks on content page, but otherwise no notes or annotations seen on remaining pages. The binding is tight and straight. Green cloth hardcover boards are very good with only light rubbing to edges and corners. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 612 pages including index.
This second edition of Medical Entomology was originally published I 1932 and revised after World War Two to include new information. Chapters include Arthropods and Human Disease, The Diptera: Flies, The Housefly and Its Allies, Myiasis of Man and Allied Conditions, Poisonous and Urticating Arthropods, Mosquitoes in Relation to Human Welfare and more. Twenty chapters in all with 242 illustrations and 4 plates. Topics include transmission and causation of human and animal diseases and controlling insects involved in disease transmission.
