This is a very good set of two hardcovers with dust jacket. 1983 and 1985 Houghton Mifflin Publishing. Both copies are very good inside and out. NOTE: Arnie and a House Full of Company has previous owners embossed stamp on cover page AND Arnie the Darling Starling has previous owners name neatly marked out under front dust jacket flap (see photo). Otherwise the pages inside are crisp and clean with no other markings seen. The bindings are tight and straight. There is no foxing or tanning of pages inside, they are crisp and clean. Tan hardcover boards under jacket on both copies are very, very good with barely any wear. The dust jackets are also very good, clean and still shiny with only a hint of shelf wear. Both are smaller size hardcovers, crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 293 and 231 pages.
Arnie the Darling Starling and Arnie and a House Full of Company are true stories of a talking starling and the grandmother who raised him. When she came across Arnie he was a helpless baby bird. After trying to return him to a nest, she took him home and raised him. Arnie resisted all attempts to restore him to the wild and traditional starling favorites like worms frightened him. Most astonishing of all, Arnie learned to talk and sing.
Both Arnie the Darling Starling along with Arnie and a House Full of Company are sure to warm your heart.
