This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1999 Knopf Publishing. This copy is clean inside and out. The pages are still nice and crisp, clean, with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Black hardcover boards with gold title/author/publisher lettering on spine are very good also, clean with barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is still clean and mostly shiny with only light shelf wear. Standard medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 575 pages.
The Ground Beneath Her Feet, A Novel by Salman Rushdie is the authors 6th novel, published in 1999. The novel tells of two men in love with the same woman. The novel offers a background and alternate history to the 1950-1990's growth of rock music. Set in Western culture, the second half of the book reveals a parallel universe and as such several historic events become altered. Watergate becomes represented as a novel, JFK survives the Dallas shooting, and various rock songs are given credit to alternate musicians.
