This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. 1970 Heritage Press. The original Sandglass Heritage pamphlet is present. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp, clean and no markings seen. This edition if finely illustrated by Robert Shore and the full color illustrations are still bright and clear. The binding is tight and straight. Hardcover boards are designed in half green with cloth orange wrap-around top. Hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying orange slipcase is very good and showing only light shelf wear. Super octavo book size or 7" x 11" with 425 pages.
From the Earth to the Moon is an 1865 novel by Jules Verne. The novel tells the story of a Baltimore Club, a weapon enthusiast group, who attempts to build a space gun and launch 3 people to the moon. Verne attempted to do rough calculations about the journey and remarkably, some of his calculations are near accurate.
The second novel in this edition if Around the Moon, the sequel to From the Earth to the Moon. It continues the trip started in the first novel.
The edition is finely illustrated by Robert Shore in full color and includes an original intro by Verne.
