This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket.. 1960 Bramhall House Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are very clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. There is no foxing or tanning on pages. Tan cloth hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is very good, light shelf wear mostly along edges/corners but still clean and holding shine. Imperial octavo book size or 8.5" x 11" with 352 pages. Features the original illustrations from John Tenniel and decorative endpapers front and back.
The Annotated Alice Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll published in 1960 was the only complete text and original illustrations in a fully annotated text at the time. The illustrator, John Tenniel was extremely prominent in the second half of the 19th century. He is mainly remembered for his political cartoons in Punch magazine for over 50 years and his illustrations for Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
This edition contains an intro and notes from Martin Gardner.
