This is a near fine (almost like new) finely bound hardcover from The Franklin Library, 1979. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp, clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 536 pages.
BINDING NOTE: This is a reprint from Franklin Library from their 100 Greatest Books editions. This edition copies the original edition BUT is not bound in genuine leather. Original Franklin Library editions are leather-bound w sewn in bookmarks. Leather-bound original editions command a significantly higher price in fine condition. The reprints are still a handsome addition for any library, still featuring decorated endpapers, gold trim page edges and faux leather binding with gold decorated front and back hardcover boards and hubbed spine.
