This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover. 1989 National Geographic Publishing, revised updated edition. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. All three page edges are tipped in gold which is barely showing any wear. Attached silk ribbon bookmark. Simulated leather binding in tan with gold design to front cover along with title/publisher lettering along spine. The faux leather cover front and back is also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. Near imperial octavo book size or 9" x 11" with 400 pages including index.
This is a revised and definitive edition from National Geographic of The World of the American Indian. As you would expect from Nat. Geo. it is finely photographed and illustrated. There are 447 illustrations with 361 in full color. From Nomads of the North to Farmers and Raiders of the Southwest, to Horsemen of the Plains and Woodsmen of the East, all regions are covered. Also covered is The Clash of Cultures and From Wounded Knee history. There is a Tribal supplement and index completing the book.
