This is a very good finely bound hardcover. 1974 J.G. Ferguson Publishing. This edition is finely bound in handcrafted mission leather by Brown & Bigelow. Illustrated founding fathers front cover. The pages inside are still very clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Speckled page edges all three sides. The handcrafted mission leather cover is also very good with only a hint of shelf wear at corners/edges. Embossed title down spine of cover. Large leather-bound hardcover, quarto book size or 9" x 12" with 423 pages.
From the title page; " The Lives of Members of the Continental Congresses and Other Prominent Men and Women of the Period." It is a complete narrative on the events, places and people leading up to and through the American Revolution of 1776. Wonderful water-color illustrations along with sketches by Kay Smith fill the pages and bring the characters to life. The pages are filled with the men and women who inspired and saw through the revolution and it features bio's for some of the most inspiring characters including John Adams, Benedict Arnold, Mary Draper, Nathanael Hale, Alexander Hamilton and more.
