This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1985 Summit Books. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp, clean, with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Tan hardcover boards with red quarter trim under jacket are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. Evil Angels by John Bryson reconstructs the story of Lindy Chamberlain, wife of Michael, a small-town pastor, who was accused of the murder of her own child. The book has been called the Australian In Cold Blood story. The case was strange from the beginning. First came messages from a camp in the Australian desert of a baby stolen from a tent by a dingo and dragged to its lair in the night. Then, the news broke that the mother had been accused of the murder. The first inquest saw Lindy Chamberlain acquitted but the second inquest saw her and her husband indicted. They were tried and convicted but there was no motive, concrete evidence or body. The case dominated the Australian press for 5 years. This book became the document for her case for freedom as the public outcry grew in the Free Lindy movement.
