This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. SIGNED copy by one of the authors, Robert Kammen on blank page opposite title page. 1992 AWA Books. This copy is in very good condition inside and out. Aside from the author signature, rest of pages are still crisp, clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Burnt orange hardcover boards with gold lettering front and spine under jacket are like new, barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is clean and shiny with only a hint of shelf wear corners/edges and Autographed Sticker place on front cover. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 230 pages.

The three authors are: Joseph Marshall, Native American Consultant, Frederick Voget Lefthand who was born on the Crow Indian Reservation and served as Secretary of the Crow Tribal Council, and Robert Kammen, American Old West historian.
The book is a complete narrative of the battles, melding oral accounts handed down by the Sioux and Crow participants along with well-researched U.S. Cavalry records.
