This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover in nice padded cover binding. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp, clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Smaller hardcover, near medium octavo size or 7" x 8" with approx 100 pages. The binding is tight and square. Cover is clean and shiny front and back with only a hint of shelf wear.
This is one of a four volume series of books published early 1990's of Shakespeare's Plays as retold by Mary Macleod. The series is in a handsome binding with padded front covers in full color illustrations. The intro to each book explains that the series is meant for new Shakespeare readers so they find delight and recreation in the narration. As such, the stories are retold in said fashion to bring fun and interest to Shakespeare's work.
This title includes Macbeth, Hamlet and The Taming of the Shrew. Gordon Browne illustrator.
