This is a rare and collectible hardcover in near fine (almost like new) condition. SIGNED by "J Carter" on front endpaper. Comes with accompanying White House Christmas card found inside book with Rosalyn and Jimmy Carter signature (assumed signed by Rosalyn, both). This copy is The Presidential Edition, published in 1977. It is in like new condition inside and out. Comes with original presentation box. The pages inside are crisp and clean. The binding is like new. The presentation box is almost like new with only a hint of wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" 208 pages.
When Jimmy Carter decided to run for president, he wrote this autobiography to let voters know who he was. Originally written in 1975, our copy is the 1977 reprint Presidential Edition. Following Carter's graduation from the Naval Academy, Admiral Rickover asked him "did you do your best?" and from there draws the title of the book.
