This copy of The Wind in The Willows by Kenneth Grahame is a fifth printing, first edition from Scribner, New York.
This beloved classic was originally published in 1908 by Scribner's in New York and Methuen in London. Neither edition was illustrated. Theodore Roosevelt had read the book repeatedly and encouraged Scribner to publish it as Grahame was initially having a hard time getting it published.
The book has been reprinted many times and illustrated editions started showing up years later, including the Arthur Rackham edition published in 1940.
This copy is in good condition overall and generously offered at 450.00 given the previous owners name written inside, light natural tanning and some wearing to cloth boards.
