William Gordon Stables was a prolific Scottish writer and medical doctor in the Royal Navy. His adventure stories were written for adventurous boys of the times. Most of his work is boys' adventure fiction and many are seafaring adventures and polar adventures. With sixteen illustrations, this tale of adventure on the high sea is an engaging work of historical fiction for young readers.
