This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket. 1943 Simon & Schuster Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages only have very light natural tanning from age and are clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Black cloth hardcover boards are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear at corners. Gold title lettering along with the 10 authors and publisher grace the spine and show barely any wearing. Standard octavo size or 6" x 9" with 488 pages. The page edges are rough cut giving this edition a vintage and distinctive look.
In this edition, ten of the world's best writers contribute short novels dealing with the men who have sought to destroy the Commandments. Contributors include; Thomas Mann, Rebecca West, Franz Werfel, John Erskine, Bruno Frank, Jules Romains, Andre Maurois, Sigrid Undset, Hendrik Willem Van Loon, and Louis Bromfield. Included is a preface by Herman Rauschning.
