This is a very good set of 4 volumes, hardcovers NO slipcase. Complete set but MISSING slipcase. 1947 Random House Publishing. Clean red cloth hardcover boards are very good with only a light shelf wear to corners/edges. There is only light fading to the spines and all title/publisher lettering on spine clean and legible. Bindings on all are tight and square. No cracking to hinges or bindings. Pages inside are clean. There is only a hint of light natural tanning to pages from age, but they are very clean. Each hardcover is 8vo in size, or 5"x8" with 480 pages. Gold title lettering on spine of each, still very good with only light wearing.
Titles in this set include The Speculative Philosophers, The Political Philosophers, The Philosophers of Science, and The Social Philosophers. From Einstein to Freud, Copernicus to Thoreau, the great critical thinkers of the world come together in this set. Handsome gift or addition for any library.
