This "thinker's anthology" contains passages from literature and speeches from a wide-array of topics which the authors chose from their lifetimes of reading. "An anthology has two ordinary functions: one is to spark our mental engine and start it turning over; the second is to send us to some of the great originals. The Practical Cogitator is capable of both of these and of a third equally vital: it sets the reader's mind off upon hunts of his own" - quoted from The Atlantic, Lucien Price Dec. 1945.
This book is unique in its own right and a wonderful addition for any readers enjoyment. You will find snippets from Darwin, Tolstoi, Shelley, Proust, Plato, Machiavelli, Einstein, Emerson, Austin and hundreds more and subjects from politics, science, morality, law, art, books and so much more.
