This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with slipcase. Heritage Press 1959. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean. Only mark seen is previous owners name neatly marked out on first blank page (see photo). Rest of pages crisp, clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Two-toned Blue cloth hardcover boards are also near fine. The accompanying slipcase is very good, light wear with light fading along edges but overall very good. Royal octavo size or 7" x 10.5" with 567 pages.

This edition is translated by Thomas Carlyle and finely illustrated with 16 full page lithographs with color. Franz Schoenberner gives the intro in this edition.
