This is a near fine (almost like new) set of 6 hardcovers, NO dust jackets, original jackets missing. Circa 1970's Little Brown Publishing. This set is in near fine or like new condition. Pages inside each volume are crisp and clean. There were no markings seen. The bindings are tight and straight on all six. The navy blue hardcover boards on each feature gold Jefferson initial in gold design on front cover and silver title, author and publisher in silver on spine. The hardcover boards are very, very good with only a hint of shelf wear. Deckle page edges, Each volume is standard octavo size or 6" x 9" with 400-500 pages each.
Jefferson and His Time is a Six volume set by historian Dumas Malone. The six volumes were published between 1948-1981. It is a biography of President Thomas Jefferson. Malone became known as the leading Jefferson scholar for his work on this set and Volume Five was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for history. It follows Jefferson from the early years through his rise to president.
The set is truly a definitive biography bound in handsome blue decorative binding.
