This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket as none issued by publisher. 1984 Derrydale Books. This copy is very good inside and out. NOTE: There is a gift inscription inside on second page; " Bill From Mom 12-24-84". (see photo) Rest of pages are crisp, clean and free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Cover front and back is also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. Imperial octavo size or 8.5" x 11" with 51 pages.
The five stories collected in this edition, all with their original illustrations, are a charming sample of the work of Beatrix Potter. The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit shows what happens to a very fierce, very bad rabbit when he behaves poorly toward a gentle rabbit. In Miss Moppet, a wily mouse manages to wiggle out of a difficult situation, and in The Tale of Tom Kitten, Tom leads his siblings into antics that would any hope his mother had of showing off her children at a tea party. Two other stories, The Tale of Jerima Puddle Duck and The Roly-Poly Puddoing complete the edition. Sure to please readers of all ages, this edition is illustrated with Beatrix Potter's original illustrations.
