This is a very good hardcover. Scribner Publishing 1916. This copy is very good, clean inside and out. The pages only have very light natural tanning from age, no foxing or markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Brown original cloth hardcover boards are very clean with only very light wearing at corners. Gold title lettering front cover and spine. Top page edges tipped in gold gilt. Original tissue-guarded frontispiece still intact at title page and Tchekoff photo in black and white. Crown octavo size or 5" x 8" with 233 pages.
Considered one of the greatest fiction writers in history, Anton Tchekoff produced four classic plays. This edition contains those plays, Uncle Vanya, Ivanoff, The Sea Gull, and The Swan Song. All are translated from Russian by Marian Fell.
