This is a very good large hardcover with dust jacket. 1995 Henry Holt Publishing. This copy is is crisp and clean inside. The pages appear white and bright, free of markings. The binding is tight and straight. Navy blue hardcover boards under jacket are near fine with only a hint of wear. The dust jacket is good, clean and still shiny with only light wear, mostly at edges and corners, BUT there is a tear to jacket back along right edge.
Large rectangle quarto size hardcover or 13" x 10.5" with 158 maps.
This revised and updated edition of The West Point Atlas of American Wars, Volume One, has a foreword by General John R. Galvin and prefatory letter by Dwight D. Eisenhower. Compiled by The Department of Military Art and Engineering United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. This edition is the first volume of the definitive military history of American Combat. Originally published in 1959, this new edition features revised maps and text and complete with 158 three and four color maps. It does more than just illustrate the battles of American land forces. The renderings in this volume are not static illustrations of positions but dynamic depictions of movements of forces day-to-day. The accompanying narrative further describes and explains the situations depicted.
